1950s Piero Fornasetti Italian Porcelain Circular Tray 24k Gold Greek Silohuette

Vintage ceramic ashtray or dish by one of the most important figures of 20th century Italian design, Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988). This small porcelain ashtray was designed by Fornasetti in Milano, Italy, circa 1950's. Fabulous depiction of an architectural triumph with excellent 24k gold greek head silhouette image portrayed in classic Fornasetti vision. Underside marked with Fornasetti hallmark hand holding a paintbrush and "FORNASETTI-MILANO MADE IN ITALY". "To own one of its pieces is to own a piece of bona fide Italian history." -The Luxurist
