A 1970s oak modular standalone shelving unit, designed by Lou Hodges for California Design Group. The unit’s modular nature makes versatile to use as one or two standalone pieces, or you can add additional shelving in between the two to extend it into a three-part unit. This set is unique because it features walnut shelving with inset glass which nicely contrasts the oak.
One may use it as a bookcase, a bar cabinet, a practical storage shelf, or even as a room divider. The pegs can be moved throughout to adjust the shelving to your liking. The cabinet pieces are attached with a simple hex screw and can also be moved around the unit.
Lou Hodges was a pioneer in environmentally conscious furniture design, and his work is increasingly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts alike, due to its unique blend of form, function, and sustainability.
The pieces are unmarked. The widths are slightly different: 33" and 33-3/4". See photos for detailed dimensions.
