Antique hand-thrown terracotta water jug in a warm, sun-baked terracotta hue, left entirely unglazed to showcase the raw clay's natural texture and variegated firing marks. Bulbous rounded body with a single substantial loop handle and a slightly flared rim. Traditional in form to the water and wine vessels once used throughout Spain, Southern France, and the wider Mediterranean, sometimes buried partway in cool earth to keep contents chilled. A wonderful rustic, wabi-sabi decorative object — beautiful holding dried branches or displayed on its own. 9.5" diameter x 9" tall.
