Iconic Danish Modern “Gulvvase” floor vase designed by Otto Brauer for Holmegaard (Kastrup-Holmegaard), Denmark, originally introduced in 1962 with this striking blue cased glass variation produced circa 1970.
This hand-blown piece features a vivid cobalt blue exterior layered over an opaque white interior, a hallmark of Holmegaard’s refined cased glass technique. The clean cylindrical form and saturated color exemplify Scandinavian modern design—simple, bold, and highly functional as both a vessel and sculptural object.
At 12.8 inches tall, this vase works beautifully as a statement piece on its own or with minimal stems, adding strong vertical presence to shelves, consoles, or tables. A highly collectible example of Danish art glass, ideal for collectors of mid-century modern design and Scandinavian glass.
